Microsoft wants the researchers found some great applications for HoloLens. A call for proposals for grants for researchers who want to work with augmented reality headset is removed, and intends to award five groups with $ 100,000 and a pair HoloLens Development, for a total of $ 500,000 and 10 handsets.

"We hope that the researchers provide new ways to HoloLens student interactive teaching, the creation of mixed-art equipment Property, manipulation using holographic data to reveal new relationships for who knows what," writes Jeannette Wing, Vice President of Microsoft Research.

Basically, Microsoft does not know what will become even more of HoloLens, but has some ideas. It is said that interested in making suggestions on how HoloLens could be used to visualize data, help people to communicate, or assist in teaching STEM, medical and design fields.

Microsoft is also interested in how to write HoloLens used artfully that also keen to see what used to stories or interactive narrative journalism is to say, be. However, the researchers are not limited to these topics, as long as their proposal helps to have an understanding to "the role and the potential applications for holographic computing company."

Microsoft is accepting submissions until early September, eligible with the university and nonprofit researchers. Seems like a good way to get some interesting projects that move in HoloLens and finally give the audience and Microsoft a better idea of what Augmented Reality can be used to get.

We've seen too many experiments with virtual reality, especially when it comes to stories, and it is likely that we can see similar approaches in Augmented Reality, once HoloLens be available. Microsoft announced its grant winners in October.
